Tickets for Bly Straube's presentation-reception on June 13 are still available. Please purchase by June 11. The bus is full. We have a wait list for anyone who wants to carpool and follow the bus. The price would be $75 for the June 14 trip only or $100 for the trip and Bly Straube's presentation the evening before. (The wait list is also in case someone who has a bus ticket has to cancel.) Please contact [email protected] or 804.438.2443 to be put on the wait list. There is no charge for the wait list.

June 13: “Collectively Indispensable, Individually Obscure: The Women of Early Virginia” Enjoy the historic ambience of Virginia’s greatest colonial church and savor an array of tempting hors d’oeuvres in our courtyard before joining renowned curator Bly Straube for this dynamic presentation that uses museum objects, archaeological discoveries and historical documents to explore some of the little-known stories of Powhatan, English, and African women in the early 17th-century Virginia colony. Get on the bus with HCC&M the next day for a visit to Historic Jamestowne and Jamestown Settlement to see some of the sites, stories and artifacts Straube discusses.

June 14:  Spring Crawl: Bus Trip to Historic Jamestowne and Jamestown Settlement. Enjoy a private tour of historic Jamestown, where groundbreaking archaeological excavations have uncovered the remarkable story of the first permanent English settlement in North America. At the Jamestown Settlement view the new exhibition Tenacity: Women in Jamestown and Early Virginia and other displays that tell the story of 1619 Virginia.

Bus Trip and June 13 Reception-Presentation with Bly Straube $125.00. Bus Trip only $100.00.

Trip tickets include bus, all admissions, lunch, breakfast treats, and wine and cheese on bus ride home. Lunch choices: Honey-baked Turkey with Swiss Cheese on Wheat Bread (mayo and mustard on the side), Roast Beef with Swiss Cheese on White Bread (mayo and mustard on the side), Chicken Salad on White Bread, or Egg Salad on Wheat Bread. All sandwiches come with lettuce, tomato, pickle, chips, and a brownie.
